New wall art

This stuff is now behind my couch instead of the flower pictures. It’s called “We are not savages” and the decals are from www.whatisblik.com. They’re on canvas so I can move them around with us.

Sad Psycho is from the same site and it’s not finished yet.

I had to use one of the two canvases I’d planned on using for Sad Psycho on the giant savage one instead. The second canvas will have the lyrics from a song called “I can’t decide” by a band called Scissor Sisters. It was played in one of our favorite Dr. Who episodes. The lyrics can be found here. Our favorite lines come from the chorus :

I can’t decide
Whether you should live or die
Oh, you’ll probably go to heaven
Please don’t hang your head and cry
No wonder why
My heart feels dead inside
It’s cold and hard and petrified

Anywho. The lyrics will be in slightly darker gray on the second canvas and it’ll have the rest of the blood trail too. The heart mobile is cold dead black hearts to complete the lovely theme. Sad Psycho used to be by the front door saying hello, but he got weird comments so he’s a little further in to the house now.

Clarinet Lamp

This is my clarinet that I played all through high school and some of junior high. I heart my clarinet. HEART IT. I don’t play it anymore though and it’s been rotting in its case for awhile.

So what did I do? Turned it in to a lamp using the parts from my old lamp of course.

It’s reversible. So if I ever wanted to use my clarinet as a clarinet again, I can take out all the electric parts. I’ve moved it from the living room to our bedroom and the plan is to do the same with Cody’s saxophone and have them on either side of the bed. I think it’ll be neat and I’ll get some use out of our old instruments. I need to find a way to do it without making it permanent though. Maybe I can just run the cord through an open key on the bottom…

Pirates

These are the pirate things my boys made. We had them in the living for awhile and now they’re in the boys’ play room
