Oops, it's been a while

I hadn’t realized it’s been almost 2 whole weeks since I posted anything. I’ve been super busy and things have been getting away from me.

First, the husband is still looking for a job. Though I suppose since we have between 7 and 10 months until he can leave the military, it’s not like he’s cutting it to the wire and some places won’t even talk to him until two months out. We’re still trying to make it to England though and I’d need six months notice since we’d be taking the pets. This whole getting out thing is… rough. I am a planner, I want to know where we’re going next ya know?

Anywho. I did a bunch of crafting for the school’s santa’s workshop thing. I brought in about 100 items and they asked if I could make more. Apparently they were really short on stuff. My oldest son and I came up with some more ideas and brought in a ton more stuff the next day. I’m happy to say that most of it sold. yay

Then I had a swap to do on a site called craftster.org. If you haven’t purused that site lately, you should. There are some very talented people on it.

Next up was finishing up Christmas presents and custom orders from my etsy shop. I shipped out quite a few packages this month which was lovely, but hectic.

I’ve been working on new things to post, but mostly I’ve just been enjoying my kids. Who knew that my oldest (he’s 8) would understand and like watching the Gilmore Girls? My husband got me the entire series and I’ve been having a little marathon. I think we’re in season three now and it’s kind of fun to hear him laugh in the right parts you know? We’ve also been gaming and having people over.

That’s all for now. I should be posting photos later.

Alice in Wonderland Decanter Set

Yes, I’m on an Alice kick lately for some reason. I found this great vintage decanter set yesterday and knew exactly what I wanted to do with it.
I cleaned it up and took it home and then I set about painting it. It’s all handpainted and I love the way it turned out. What do you thinkg?

Alice in Wonderland Card Guard

I have been so busy this weekend. I doubled the orders in my etsy store in just the first week of December. To say it’s been a little hectic is an understatement. Add in decorating my own house for Christmas, finishing up a college class, the kids, and blah blah blah it’s just a lot right now. Not that I’m complaining. I’m happy to have hit my 100th sale in such a short period of time.

On to the card guards. I love the way these turned out. I hung a couple up in my room and I’m busy making some more. I think they’ll be a huge hit and if they’re not, well I’ll keep them all for myself. Which kind of describes how I’m looking at my store now. I’m only making things I’d use in my own home. None of this make it because I think someone will buy it crap, just things that I’d use myself. So far, it seems to be going well.

Do you twitter? and Pick your Poison Platter

I started twittering and you can find me at this link. Do you twitter? Leave me the link in the comments so I can follow you :)

Next up, this is a new platter I made for my store .

I like the way it turned out. It’s about 14 inches and handpainted on the back so that picking food off of it or washing it won’t scratch up the painting.

Made a Storque article

One of my items was featured in a storque article on etsy. I’m so excited. YAY! There’s some great stuff on there and I don’t say that just because my stuff is there lol.

It was a great pick me up after a shit day at my vendor booth in the bx. I really think my items are just not going to do well at some place like the bx and I need to find another venue to sell them
