A damask couch

I bought this vintage teal couch from Those Were the Days and wasn’t sure how to get it home. Cody said to buy it though and we’d figure it out. Figure it out consisted of him borrowing a dolly and walking the couch home. Yes. He walked my couch home the other day and had a couple strange looks while he was doing it. Sorry dudes at the Juggernaut if he messed up your game by distracting you. In any case, the couch is now here and in my living room.

I love the color of it and that it’s a shimmery fabric but not too out there. I want the legs to be a bit darker though. We found out after Cody brought it home that the couch is actually slip covered. Amazing job on that due to the attention to detail. You really can not tell it’s slipcovered at all and it’s a good thing it is too because it has the ugliest original fabric under the cover. My friend Cooleen helped me rearrange… again… yesterday and we decided to move the bookcases so my little tree could go next to the couch.

I like the little couch right there, hate the curtains and still searching for new ones (these curtains came with the house), loathe the fleshy toned wall color.  We’re debating on the new color and perhaps the bloggy people can help me… Should we do a dark luscious blue like you see on the show “Lie to Me” or should we do a shade of black? The dinning room is currently a nice dark teal, our bedroom is a shade of black, and the boys’ bathroom is dark blue. We plan on keeping all those colors and we’re slowly painting the rest of the house to be more like what we want…

Which brings me to the back living room. We painted that one just to paint it after we took down the wallpaper. I thought the color would be darker then how it turned out. I’m not happy with it and I’ve tried really hard to be happy with it… We’re in the middle of putting different curtains in the front living room and moving the front living room curtains to the now studio. I’m still moving in to that room and lemme tell ya… it’s trashed right now omg. I even took a photo

Messy studio

I’ve been going through crafting supplies and selling or donating those things that I do not use. I’ve been doing the same with things around the house. Anything we don’t really love and/or use often is being vacated from the house.  In the meantime… the house looks just wow! There’s stuff like everywhere. I should fix that… which is the task for today. What have you been putting off doing lately?

The couch is to die for. I love the colors you painted your rooms, so pretty! What is the name of the blue in your craftroom? I love what you have done with your house. It’s awesome.

Thanks Aimee! The paint is from Lowes and it’s called “Steel.” It’s a lovely color, just not as dark as I wanted the room. I happen to have a gallon if you live close to me lol

That couch is amazing! It looks great and your hubby is a good ‘un. I am also purging some craft supplies (mostly scrapbooking) because I have been focusing on quilting. *sigh* it is a big job, huh?
