The other title for this post could be “I’d rather make a living on my back than to do this again.”
Yes, it sucked that bad. Basically the house is OLD so it took between 30 to 60 minutes per sheet and we were hanging 12. fml. Part of why it took so long is that we’d cut it square and then the space it was meant to go in wasn’t square. It was very very frustrating.
In the end, I think it was worth it to spend that much time making sure it was done correctly, but not worth it enough for me to do it again. I’ll demo and paint, and build but I won’t hang drywall again.
We still need to build bookcases, paint everything, do trim around the windows, make a coffer ceiling to match the rest of the house, put in baseboards, build a desk, decorate, build a coffee table, buy a rug, and tile the fireplace. So it is no where near done, but I’m that much closer to a functional office space that is also my living room.
